Securing Your Marital Destiny
You have a marital destiny and it is in God’s plan. He has planned for you a glorious marital destiny, and a fulfilling marital destiny. His word says in
Jeremiah29:11 ‘’ For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future’’ {NIV}
This is a message of hope for you. Yes you! God has planned out a good marital destiny for you. The plans are for your prosperity, well-being and peaceful life. So look to God for his plans to come to pass. He who has ‘’willed’’ it is able to bring it to pass. The scripture says in
psalms34 ‘’ they looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed’’
Your personal relationship with God is important and must be in place. You cannot secure a glorious marital destiny when you are not in a relationship him. Make a decision and a commitment today to work on your relationship with God. The bible says in
James4:8 ‘’ Draw near to God and He will draw near to you’’
Work on it. It requires time and effort and a deep desire to be close to God’s presence. And it is that desire that will make you want to pray, worship, study His word, attend fellowships, which will birth to a willingness to please him in your lifestyle.
In securing our marital destiny as singles, we need to:

1. Have a picture of your marital destination: Let it be very clear. God has planned it, you need to discover it. Find out the purpose of marriage, what God had in mind when He created marriage. When you don’t know the purpose of a thing, abuse is inevitable.
2. Prepare for your marital destiny: Proper and prayerful preparation is required to prevent poor performance. Marriage is a lifelong journey, you need to prepare:
i) Spiritually by working on your relationship with God. Develop a fulfilling friendship with God, only God can give a lasting satisfaction.
ii) Mentally by building up your self-esteem. You must first be in love with yourself, be confident in who you are and what you can do and also be comfortable that you cannot do something’s. Have a good feeling of acceptance, competence and confidence.
iii) Develop your character and confidence on solid principles. Develop a strong Christian character; your character is who you are and your greatest asset in marriage. Get rid of negative habits by the power in the word of God.
Psalms119:9 says
‘’wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his ways? By taking heed thereto according to your word’’
Erasing negative habits from our lives requires the word of God.
